普段デニムをはく上で、その背景に環境破壊やそれを作っている人達に何が起こっているかなんて考えた事もなかった。
正直ここまでの状況だったとは知らなかった。
3.11をきっかけに、特に原発については考え方が変わった。
原発にしても、物作りにしても、今までは安く沢山作れるってことで選んでいた選択肢の裏にはそれだけの理由がある。
この先何十年、何百年先の事を考えて物を作ったり生活するのは簡単な事ではないけど、小さな事から自分に出来る事はやる。
自分の知らない所で何が起きているのかもっと知る必要がある。
Wearing denim regularly, I had never thought about backdrop of environmental devastation and effects on the people who produce it. Truthfully,
I did not know that the situation was this bad.
In the wake of 3.11, my thoughts changed.
Whether it is nuclear energy or manufacturing of products, the choices we have made up to now because it enables us to make a lot, very cheaply,
has its trade-offs.
It is not easy to make things and to live in a way that gives regard to decades and centuries in the future, but I will try to start by doing the small things that I am capable of right now.
I also think that I must do more to find out what is happening in places that I would usually not know about.
